Patiala Locomotive Works PLW Patiala Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 225 Act Apprentice Vacancies

Patiala Locomotive Works (PLW), a premier production unit of Indian Railways located in Patiala, Punjab, has released the official notification for the engagement of 225 Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961 for the training year 2025–26. The recruitment is open for various trades including Electrician, Mechanic (Diesel), Fitter, Machinist, and Welder. Candidates who have passed 8th or 10+2 and possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT recognized institutions are eligible to apply. The online application window is open from 01st December to 22nd December 2025 (5:00 PM). Selection will be done purely on a merit basis without any written test.

Trade-wise Vacancy Details

Education

• For Welder (G&E): 8th Class Pass + ITI in Welder trade
• For All Other Trades: 10+2 (Intermediate) Pass + ITI/NCVT in relevant trade
• Candidates must have their mark sheets and ITI certificates ready before applying.

Salary (Stipend)

• 1st Year of Training: ₹7,000/month
• 2nd Year of Training: ₹7,700/month
• 3rd Year of Training: ₹8,050/month

Age Limit (as on cut-off date)

• Minimum Age: 15 years
• Maximum Age for Welder: 22 years
• Maximum Age for All Other Trades: 24 years
• Age relaxation applicable as per Govt. of India rules (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen)
